How This Centre Works

Irshad Ahmad Reshi
The Centre Facilitator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Smartpur Centre, delivering digital and governance services, assisting beneficiaries in accessing government schemes and online services, coordinating centre activities, maintaining records, supporting programme implementation and ensuring smooth service delivery to the community.
Irshad Ahmad Reshi, a graduate and NCC certificate holder, joined the Smartpur project in 2023 as a Centre Facilitator for Veersiran Panchayat. Before this, he was running a CSC centre, but his reach and recognition in the community were limited. After joining Smartpur, Irshad’s visibility and income grew significantly. Through Smartpur programs, digital services and trainings, he became well-known not only in Veersiran but also in nearby areas. He actively accompanies his staff, ensures smooth service delivery, and brings various trainings to the community. Today, Irshad is recognized as a committed service provider not centre based but in far-off areas even provides door-step services. His work has positively impacted the community and strengthened Smartpur’s presence in the region.
Our Initiatives Transforming Lives

Community Context
Who we serve
At Smartpur Centres, we serve diverse beneficiaries through the delivery of essential services, digital literacy programs for children, combined awareness and financial literacy camps and skill-based training for men and women. We further provide home-visit support services to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Our interventions also reach a significant proportion of the Scheduled Tribe population.
Challenges addressed
• Financial Inclusion: Eliminated dependence on distant bank branches by creating a trusted local access point, improving financial participation in an underserved rural area. • Skill Development & Livelihood: Addressed limited income opportunities and low digital exposure by combining practical vocational skills with culturally relevant digital training through local facilitators. • Social Resilience: Countered rising concerns of drug abuse and environmental neglect by mobilizing youth, PRIs, Auqaf and CMCs under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan to lead plantation drives. This strengthened community ownership and created platforms for open dialogue on drug prevention.
