How This Centre Works

M.GOWTHAM
Centre Facilitator, Poorivakkam.
M. Gowtham, aged 30, is a graduate who was previously unemployed and belonged to a poor family of three members. He is married, and his family struggled to meet their daily needs due to an insufficient income. Despite having the skills and determination to succeed, he lacked the right opportunity to build a stable livelihood. During this difficult period, the REACHA team identified his potential and encouraged him to start a new career. His life changed when REACHA NGO, with the support of NOKIA, established the Smartpur Centre in Poorivakkam Panchayat and offered him the role of Community Facilitator. This opportunity enabled him to work in his own village while serving the community through awareness programmes and essential digital services. The role provided him with a regular source of income and strengthened his confidence. It also earned him respect and recognition among the people in his village. As a result, his family's financial condition improved significantly, allowing them to live with greater stability and dignity. Today, Gowtham and his family are leading a happy, confident, and better life with hope for a brighter future.
