Jayanti Lal, 35, is a resident of Pal Mandav Gram Panchayat in Dungarpur district, Rajasthan. As the sole earning member of a family of six, including his wife and four school-going children, meeting daily household expenses was a constant challenge. With only basic e-Mitra services and limited resources, he earned just ₹5,000–₹10,000 per month, which was insufficient to support his family. Lack of digital equipment, technical knowledge, unreliable electricity, and frequent network disruptions restricted his ability to serve the community effectively. Villagers often had to travel long distances for banking services and government scheme applications, while children had little access to computer education. Jayanti Lal's life changed after he joined the SMARTPUR Project. Through the project, he received essential infrastructure, including solar power backup, laptops, printers, furniture, and regular technical training and mentoring. He also became a Banking Correspondent (BC), enabling him to provide banking and digital financial services alongside e-Mitra facilities. Today, his SMARTPUR Centre has become a one-stop digital service centre, providing access to government schemes such as Palanhar Yojana, PM-KISAN, pensions, scholarships, Jan Aadhaar, e-Shram, and banking services. As a result of these interventions, Jayanti Lal's monthly income has increased to ₹20,000–₹25,000, significantly improving his family's quality of life. More importantly, his centre has become a trusted community resource, reducing the need for villagers to travel outside the Gram Panchayat for essential services. Jayanti Lal's journey demonstrates how the SMARTPUR Project has transformed a small village service centre into a hub of digital inclusion, financial access, education, and community empowerment—creating lasting impact for both his family and the people of Pal Mandav.

Challenges addressed

Residents faced difficulties accessing welfare schemes due to low digital awareness and long travel distances. Limited access to formal banking services and digital financial transactions. Many villagers lacked smartphones, digital skills, and confidence in using online platforms. Many eligible families were unaware of government schemes or lacked documentation to access them.
