How This Centre Works

The Kurug Smartpur Centre works as a community resource and service delivery hub. Community members visit the center to access digital services, government schemes, and important information. The center regularly identifies the needs of the community and organizes awareness programmes, capacity-building sessions, livelihood training, and financial literacy workshops. It also disseminates information on government welfare schemes and assists eligible beneficiaries in accessing these services. Through continuous community engagement, digital support, and skill development activities, the center empowers people and promotes the overall socio-economic development of Kurug Panchayat.

Javid Ahmad Rather

Javid serves as the Community Facilitator at the Kurug Smartpur Centre, where he is responsible for managing day-to-day centre operations and ensuring that rural communities have easy access to essential digital and public services. He assists residents with financial and utility services such as AEPS cash withdrawals, pension disbursements, and bill payments, while also facilitating access to government services, including Labour Cards, e-Shram registration, PAN Cards, domicile certificates, and land records. In addition, he supports digital services such as mobile recharges and digital identity-related assistance, conducts community outreach and mobilization activities, and promotes awareness of government welfare schemes. Through these efforts, he helps bridge the digital divide by making critical services more accessible, efficient, and convenient for the local community.

Javid completed his graduation in the same year he joined the Smartpur Centre. Coming from a below-middle-class family, he carried a strong sense of responsibility toward his parents and was determined to contribute financially to support his household. However, due to financial constraints, he was unable to pursue higher education and had to begin searching for employment opportunities. At a crucial point in his life, Javid found an opportunity at the Smartpur Centre, where he joined as a Centre Facilitator. In this role, he plays a vital part in bridging the gap between citizens and essential services. He assists community members in accessing various government and digital services, supports them with online applications, raises awareness about welfare schemes, and ensures that people receive timely and accurate assistance. Over time, this role has significantly strengthened Javid's professional skills, including communication, digital literacy, and problem-solving. More importantly, it has provided him with a stable source of income, improving his family's financial condition. Today, Javid stands as a confident and self-reliant entrepreneur. He not only supports his family but also contributes meaningfully to the development of his community. By making essential services more accessible, he has become a trusted resource for the people around him and a catalyst for positive change. Javid's journey reflects resilience, determination, and the power of opportunity. His story demonstrates how access to meaningful employment and the right support system can transform individual lives while contributing to the overall development of communities.
