The Smartpur Centre operates through a collaborative, community-driven model designed to strengthen local capacities through digital learning, education support and livelihood-focused interventions. • District Coordinator: Leads community mobilization and needs assessments, and builds strategic linkages with banks, government departments and partner organizations. • Computer Academic Instructor (CAI): Delivers digital literacy training and practical computer education for students and community members. • Centre Facilitator: Manages day-to-day centre operations, supports financial inclusion initiatives, and facilitates access to citizen services and public governance support.

The Centre Facilitator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Smartpur Centre, delivering digital and governance services, assisting beneficiaries in accessing government schemes and online services, coordinating centre activities, maintaining records, supporting programme implementation and ensuring smooth service delivery to the community.

Mudasir Ahmad Lone, an M.Phil. scholar and UGC-NET qualifier, initially struggled to find permanent government placement despite years of contractual teaching. After a brief stint running a retail shop post-COVID, his career pivoted In 2023 when he was appointed as the Centre Facilitator for the Smartpur project in Nagipora Kullar. This role provided professional stability and community respect, leading to significant personal milestones. Under Mudasir’s leadership, the Smartpur Centre has bridged the void between the community and government through hosting numerous events such as Gram Sabha, Digital week, Back to village. His success further expanded in 2024 through the Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG) under the HADP scheme. Today, Mudasir synergizes both initiatives to empower local farmers and residents, utilizing innovative technology to drive rural development and enhance the socio-economic well-being of his region.

Smartpur Anantnag, in collaboration with Civil Defence/SDRF and RDD&PR, organized the first K-6 Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Training at Mattan–Srigufwara. The training focused on building community first-responder capacities, enhancing disaster preparedness, and strengthening local resilience through practical awareness and emergency response skills.

Who we serve

At Smartpur Centres, we serve diverse beneficiaries through the delivery of essential services, digital literacy programs for children, combined awareness and financial literacy camps and skill-based training for men and women. We further provide home-visit support services to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Our interventions also reach a significant proportion of the Scheduled Tribe population.

• Reduced the financial burden on families by providing free certified digital literacy training. • Improved access to digital governance services in a rural setting. • Addressed limited awareness of government schemes through regular outreach and awareness programmes. • Ensured continuous community engagement despite geographical and logistical constraints.
